Today, learning about food and being confident in the kitchen, is considered pretty cool. But watching TV to learn about cooking is simply not enough.
Cooking uses all 5 senses. Smelling the aroma of a baking cake, feeling the sauce thicken as it is stirred and comes to the boil or working dough to become smooth and elastic as it is kneaded cannot be experienced through a screen.
Teaching whilst ‘doing’ is the best way to build confidence and understanding. Grasping the fundamentals of fun kitchen science and maths along with ‘Taste’ education is as important as knowing how to cook. Why do we like some foods and not others? In this safe environment, you will explore and discuss flavours and textures, kitchen skills, food preparation, cooking techniques and table etiquette are all included in these exciting classes.
Oh, and cleaning up is all part of the deal. Your children will learn the tips and tricks to keeping a clean, organised and safe kitchen.
Depending on recipe, baked goods may be eaten in class or taken home for the family to try.
All staff are foodies or qualified chef’s, have ‘working with children’ clearance. We are passionate and experienced in teaching kids how to enjoy food and cooking. We’d love to meet your children and it would be our pleasure to teach them.
