We might still be dolling ourselves up in readiness for when our doors open, but that doesn’t mean we’re not keeping an eye out for what’s in season and being boxed up by our local growers to plump up your fruit and veggie bowl.
This month, it’s looking berry delicious, with spring fruits strawberries and blueberries sweetening things up as the cool weather starts to fade and spring gets well and truly underway.

STRAWBERRIES

Dip ‘em in chocolate, smother them in whipped cream or just eat them all their own, strawberries are nature’s answer to dessert. And when they start looking not so plump and juicy, don’t waste them, just throw them in a blender with milk and yoghurt for a smoothie that will win over even the fussiest appetites.

BLUEBERRIES

Forget chia seeds and kale, blueberries are the real deal when it comes to superfoods. Packed with vitamin K and C, fibre, manganese and antioxidants, they’re your best choice for getting in that 2 serves a day, and make a tasty snack that doesn’t require any effort whatsoever.
Don’t worry – The Kitchens will be in season soon, where you’ll be able to find the best seasonal vegetables and fruits and local produce both to fill up your green bags and eat local straight from the plate!
